What Makes America Great?

It could be argued that this is what makes America great. This is what freedom of speech affords people the right to preach what they like, wherever they like. Anyone can make claims and have preach beliefs, no matter how controversial they may be, without the fear of being stopped by a local, state, or federal body.

Though, it could also be argued that this is what makes America not so great. That this type of thing cannot be restricted and stopped. Even if the preaching cannot be stopped, at least stop the preaching from being done at the funerals of fallen soldiers. It takes independent citizens (the Patriot Guard Riders) to do whatever they can to make these protesters invisible to the grieving families. These soldiers fell for their country and the country cannot stop their families from seeing displays of hate at the funeral.

In my opinion, these preachings and protests are appalling. There is no place in our society for ones devotion to god to be displayed like this publicly. These soldier's funerals that they are protesting at, are fighting to keep these freedoms us, and for these people. This is a hell of a way to show thanks and/or respect. Whether you agree with the wars or not, you should still have respect.

I am not trying to turn this into a religious post, but one about the rights of the citizens of the United States. The question, "what makes America great", can have very different responses. This video shows the freedom of speech in its most extreme form, while at the same time, gives us ideas of why some freedoms should have limits.
