The Nature of Defense

The defense industry is vastly different from what it once was. Focused more on security and prevention, rather than large-scale wars, we try to keep our men off the ground and our offense in the sky as much as possible. And so we set the scene the modern-day defense industry.

In 2015, a laser cannon system was built by Kratos Defense & Security, and has already been classified as an operational weapons system by the US Navy. This system has been called "the future of the military." It is capable of shooting down enemy aircraft, from something as small as a drone to as large as a fighter jet, at a cost of only $1 a shot.

The idea behind the laser cannon system is the ability to safely take out enemy drones and planes without putting our own people at risk, in a way that is also cost effective to us. The ability to protect our interests at such a low cost will change the way we approach defense and the defense industry.

While this technology is still in the early stages, the outlook is bright. We certainly have come a long way from the large-scale ground wars of the past.
